A Star drops fire lyrics in ’96 bars of revenge’

Perhaps one of the best known emerging names in the grime scene is rapper A Star. In his latest hard-hitting freestyle release ’96 Bars Of Revenge’ he drops some ‘fire’ lyrics and comments, “those who are familiar with my music know I like to share what’s on my heart, my ups and downs, good and bad times, this is just another tune with me expressing myself.”

Forget ‘Fire In The Booth/Park’ as the streets were well lit in this video with Flockpoint7 providing the visuals. You will need to listen to these 96 bars more than once, as A Star deals with everything from 2015 successes, church culture, missions, fake attitudes in the music scene, false leaders, award shows and much more! Standard.

This young rapper may have just single-handedly and definitively added the fuel that will ignite the next phase of the grime scene which given it’s current cultural prominence, evident even from the recent MOBO Awards, will minister to this generation and beyond.

A Star most recently featured in the UK Christian Chart with Leon Anthony’s November #10 track ‘Growing Up’. He is also well known for his UK anthem ‘Down For My Brothers’ or ‘DFMB’ which had remixes from around the world.

Would be interesting to see a “96 Bars of…” cypher series picking up from what A Star has started and with the same honesty and passion. Catch him on Facebook | Twitter for more updates.
