Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Cambridge, Navina started playing the piano as a child but fostered a love for writing at the age of 14. Her debut EP “Colours” is a unique collection of indie/folk sounds with threads of worship running through.
Growing up in church, Navina has always been surrounded by various styles of music . Her sound has been compared to an “early Norah Jones” with an edge of pop and folk. She produces her own music and is influenced by the likes of Rostam Batmanjli and Ryan Tedder. She was nominated as Best Unsigned Female in the Best of British Unsigned Music Awards 2015 and is a regular feature on the show, also playing various live sessions for BBC Cambridgeshire and the BBC Asian Network. Navina was also named as one of BBC DJ Yasser’s 6 artists to watch in 2016.
Her debut EP features three tracks, written, produced and recorded herself. She played all the instruments apart from the drums and bass and initially producing the demo’s in her bedroom. The EP has gained both local, and international coverage. Since then, Navina has been working on EP no. 2.
