The twenty year old psychology student Paul The Messenger recently released his single ‘Catch 22’ which tells a story of his experience with mental health and shares his perspective of dealing with life. Read his deeply rooted and annotated lyrics on Genuis.
Studying at Coventry University, Paul (aka Paul Kazadi) is a professional keyboardist and author. Paul wrote ‘Catch 22′ with issues like depression, anxiety and other mental health problems in mind, as well as the general idea of “problems” and how we can often feel we’ve exhausted all of the resources possible help ourselves. “Ultimately all that’s left to do is wait on God to be saved by God’s grace”!
When asked about his musical intentions he said “I want to change the way people look Christian music in the UK. No singer who does Christ-centred music in the UK (that I’ve heard of), quite crosses the bridge between believers and non-believers, like I do. I want to make music that brings in the non-believers whilst keeping the believers encouraged.”
