Taking Ground Music recently announced the launch of its first EP by Matt and Abi Horner. “Heavenly Father” was debuted to a warm reception at Tees Valley Community Church on Saturday, earlier in October and already the couple from Stockton-on-Tees are receiving incredible feedback.
TGM is a community of friends, singers, musicians and creative folk from across the family of Taking Ground churches in the North-East, with a desire to be, and see, people awakened to God, abandoning all else to passionately pursue and worship Him.
Married for just over five years, the Horners have one baby son, and as well as being worship pastors in their home, Tees Valley Community Church, the couple are both teachers by day. Matt, 27, said: “We’re really excited to share these songs with people, we feel really blessed to have been given the opportunity to do this project. It’s been a real journey for us, of discovering more of the father heart of God and his love for people. Our prayer is that these songs will inspire and encourage people to connect with Father God in a new and fresh way.”
Speaking after the launch Abi added: “The heart of Taking Ground Music and this EP, is all about drawing close to God and wanting to be changed by Him; wanting to be and see others, awakened by Him!”
TGM has been birthed and led by Matt and Abi who are both passionate about worship being less about a ‘one time experience’ and more about a lifestyle that changes and awakens. The five-track, available on Spotify, iTunes and other online stores, features five original tracks written by the couple including ‘Your Love‘, ‘Know You More‘, ‘Refuge‘, ‘Watching Over Me‘ and title track, ‘Heavenly Father‘.
