The JUMP Music Video Awards, the most prestigious event in the UK to honour Christian Gospel Music videos, is now an annual fixture in the calendar. Following the successful event in 2016, the JUMP Music Video Awards will take place this year on Saturday 21st October at City Gates Ilford from 6.30pm.
The red carpet will be rolled out for the 2017 event, which promises to be the biggest JUMP Music Video Awards to date. Setting their sights on a glitzy event with a larger audience, the organisers GreenTree Productions chose ultra-modern City Gates as the venue. It will be filled with artists, video directors, music industry figures, and music lovers in what will be the third edition of the event.
The JUMP Music Video Awards was created to highlight the collaboration between artists and the visual creatives who are often the unsung heroes. As always, a panel of experts from the worlds of music, film and TV will pick the winners from the selection of finalists of the anticipated 20 award categories on the night. However, a new addition to the awards this year will be The People’s Choice Award. This marks the first time the public gets a say on their favourite video.
“It’s really important that we have our panel of judges made up of professional film and television producers, and experts in visuals and sound, music and media. This gives integrity to the whole idea of encouraging excellence,” said Juliet Fletcher, Director of the JUMP Music Video Awards. “But we always get an overwhelming amount of feedback from music fans who want to get involved in the process so it made sense to open it up to them. It will be interesting to see whether their choice lines up with that of the judges.”
For the People’s Choice Award, voters will have the opportunity to choose one video from the list of finalists. The video with the most votes will be crowned the People’s Choice Award winner.
The JUMP Music Video Awards will celebrate the best in British Gospel as it has influenced the styles of RnB/Soul, Reggae & Caribbean Sound, Hip-Hop, Praise & Worship, and Afro Beats. Performances include MOBO Award Winner Best Gospel (2014) Evans Ogboi, successful European touring choir IDMC, leading Afro-Beat star Andrew Bello, the soulful tones of soloist Sam Moore and triple JUMPMVA2016 Winner Bobby Bovell. Invited guests include the celebrated BBC The Voice Finalist Michelle John.
