With his hugely successful Hymns & Spiritual Songs EP launch event still fresh in the minds of many, Joshua Kesler is one UK Gospel Reggae artist on a move and primed for great impact in 2017. His career as a singer and songwriter was steadily gathering momentum even before he became the first UK Reggae Gospel artist to appear on the popular BBC Songs of Praise.
We caught up with the Spurgeon College and London School of Theology graduate and ordained minister to ask a few quick questions…
1. Who is your favourite artist at the moment?
This is a hard one as there are many. Recently I’ve been listening to Rondell Positive.
2. Tell us who is your favourite Bible personality and why.
Apart from Jesus I would have to say David. Why? David was a warrior while on the other hand a worshiper, In spite of his failures he was a man after God’s heart.
3. Music is obviously something you want to do but if it didn’t exist, what would you be doing?
God’s has gifted me in the area of music of which I am truly grateful. what many don’t know is that I have also been blessed with the gift to ‘preach’ the word of God. I love people, so my heartbeat is always to see lives healed, delivered, transformed and souls won for Christ.
4. What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
A pastor often said to me ‘The safest place to be, is in the will of God’.
5. You recently launched your Hymns & Spiritual Songs EP, how did that go?
To God be all the Glory. It was a fantastic occasion. The support was overwhelming and I am truly thankful & grateful for what the Lord has done and will continue to do moving forward. My objective and heart for any project God inspires me to do is to serve the people; to inspire, empower and encourage the listener to know that once one has life, there is hope.
6. Can you tell us anything about your future plans for music?
Over the years I have done many wonderful covers. In the new year I will be working on my own material.
